Week 8 AFC South Predictions

For the first time in team history the Texans will try to do something they've never been able to accomplish, sweep the Colts in regular season play. Although the Texans beat the Colts in their first season match up at Reliant Stadium 34-24 in Week 1, the storyline will be much different Monday night inside Lucas Oil Stadium. Historically Peyton doesn't lose in Indy, as Texans fans we're well aware of this and its hard to imagine that will change in Week 8. The Texans come in to Monday's game dead last in passing yards allowed this season, and the Colts have had two weeks to prepare their air attack against our boys coming off a bye week. I would be very surprised if Peyton didn't throw the ball 70% of the time or greater and have his way with our struggling secondary. Colts 31, Texans 24

Colt to watch: Jacob Tamme, 3rd year replacement TE for injured Dallas Clark, arguably Peyton's favorite target.

Texan to watch: Kareem Jackson, struggling rookie CB out of Alabama who has been picked on by every opposing QB thus far, we need a big game from this guy.

The Titans will be going to San Diego to face Philip River's potent offense Sunday. Tennessee is still unsure who will lead their team with VY coming off an injury and still considered day to day at this point. If you're a Chargers fan you will probably want to see Vince starting after watching last week's Kerry Collins to Kenny Britt passing barrage against the Eagles, over 200 yards and 3 TDs. Chargers 27, Titans 21

If there is one game that Texans fans should be excited about watching Sunday its the Jags going into the house that Jerry Jones built to face the Cowboys. We are guaranteed to have one of our rivals lose this game. Its hard to figure out what's more important as a Texans fan....a loss for an AFC South rival or a Cowboys loss. The ultimate goal of course is to win our division, but whats better than watching Jerry Jones face sulk late in the fourth quarter in his multi million dollar booth? Good news Cowboys fans, your Boys will win this win at home. Cowboys 24, Jaguars 17

'Boys may lose Romo for season

The Cowgirls were dismantled by the Giants in Arlington last night dropping to 1-5 for the season. Romo suffered a  broken clavicle as well which may end his season. I know we'd all be enjoying this alot more if that one win the 'girls got, wasn't against our 'boys.

Kubiak moves Cush to MLB

Kubiaks announces today that for the rest of the season Brian Cushing will be our starting MLB. Cushing is "excited" about the opportunity to lead the Texan defense. Kevin Bentley will be our SLB and of course Zach Diles one of my personal favorites will be in the WLB spot.

Another Cut

Texans release ex Longhorn DT Frank Okam today. The Texans also picked up free agent DT Damione Lewis, LB Stanford Keglar, and DE Tim Jamison to the practice squad. Malcolm Shepard is called up to active roster.

Brown is back, no not Kris don't worry

Left Tackle Duane Brown rejoined the Texans lineup last tuesday after serving a 4 game suspension for violating the leagues policy on performance-enhancing substances. Brown called it the "longest four weeks of my life." Kubiak says Brown should get the start over Rashad Butler next weekend against the Colts, which we all know means that he will.

Week 7 - The Bye

The dreaded bye week. The week where Texans fans hope to see an AFC South loss or at the very least a Cowboys loss. This far what we have seen has been mostly negative, except of course for team on the bottom of the AFC South totem pole slipping a little farther down.

The Jaguars had their hands full with a much improved Kansas City Chiefs team lead by Matt Cassel. Coming off a loss to the Texans in Week 6, we knew that Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis would come out firing against an inconsistent Jaguar defense, blowing this one out 42-20 in KC.

The Titans weren't so easy to watch for a Texans fan Sunday however. With VY out, Kerry Collins led the Titans to 37-19 win over the Eagles in Nashville with the help of a statement game by WR Kenny Britt receiving over 200 yards and 3 TDS Sunday, regardless of being benched the entire 1st quarter for an altercation he found himself in at a local Nashville night club. A lot of fantasy owners lost games based on Chris Johnson's performance early Sunday, or lack there of, reaching only 66 yards on the ground.

But at least we get a week off to prepare for our most hated enemies the Colts right? Well...sure, except they had the week off to prepare for us as well. I doubt they'll get caught looking ahead to they're Week 9 matchup against the Eagles this year, especially after they're opening weekend embarrassment here in Houston.

We're all Giants fans tomorrow night though right? Go Texans

Standings through 7 weeks:

Tennessee     5-2
Houston        4-2
Indianapolis   4-2
Jaguars          3-4
